RECORDER/RADIO OPERATOR

The Whangaroa Sport Fishing Club are celebrating their 100-year centenary and are looking for a Recorder/Radio Operator to join our friendly supportive team.

After over 20 years of service our wonderful Recorder/Radio Operator is retiring but will be staying on to train you in all aspects of her role before she departs,  so you will be able to hit the ground running.

This is a permanent part-time position which can range from 8hrs (winter) to 50+ hours per week during our busier periods.  Ultimately, we need someone who is reliable and who can commit to always being there for our members during busy competitions, but there is also the option to work from home during our quieter periods.

We are seeking a dedicated, flexible person to record catches during competitions and be the ‘voice’ on our radio for all things fishing and club related.  You will have outstanding communication skills along with a background in offering excellent customer service.  Strong attention to detail and the ability to think on your feet will be key to your success in this role.

This position has many duties and responsibilities, and you could be doing anything from recording a world record breaking fish, arranging prize giving, advising on the radio during our competitions to filing and data entry.  Our current recorder has even been involved in marine research, sustainable fishing practices, etc and is well known within the local and fishing club community throughout NZ.

If you would enjoy working right on the water then we would love to hear from you, please apply by sending you CV and a brief cover letter to manager@wsfclub.co.nz
